Embedded Software Pioneer Mark Snyder joins ALT Software as new VP of Product Development
Former U.S. Air Force research scientist and avionics innovator to drive ALT’s 2D/3D embedded software development.
TORONTO, Canada - September 16th, 2009 - ALT Software, a Canadian embedded graphics software design company serving the aerospace, industrial, automotive, and medical device markets, announced today that Mark Snyder will lead the company’s product development department. Over the past decade ALT has become a leader in the field of embedded graphics software. Their 2D/3D graphics drivers are currently deployed in dozens of civilian and military aircraft, including the interactive flight deck displays of technology-rich models such as the Airbus A380 and the Lockheed F/A 22 “Raptor” stealth fighter. Mark is a visionary in the embedded graphics field and an accomplished designer of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) tools, 2D/3D digital moving maps, and other industry leading graphics device software. In his new role as VP of Product Development he will lead the evolution of ALT’s product line into the next decade.

Mark Snyder’s background includes many senior roles in the embedded graphics industry. He led the development of embedded graphics software and tools at Quantum 3D and was a key architect of some of Honeywell International’s most advanced flight deck technology, used in groundbreaking aircraft such as the Dassault Falcon F7X and Gulfstream V. He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, culminating with a position as a research scientist at the Air Force Research Lab at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. Mr. Snyder is a noted industry expert and frequent author and speaker on topics affecting the embedded multimedia industry. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio, and is named inventor on 10 patents in the area of human-machine interface and digital moving map technology.
