ALT Software Launches U.S. Subsidiary
Embedded Media and Device Software leader to establish Embedded Tools and Solutions Center of Excellence in Phoenix, Arizona
TORONTO, Canada - January 25th, 2010 - Toronto-based ALT Software announced today that it has formed a U.S. subsidiary with operations in Phoenix, Arizona. This new subsidiary is the home of ALT’s new Embedded Tools and Solutions Center of Excellence. ALT is an established industry leader in embedded media and graphics drivers. Their products are used in commercial and military aircraft as well as in consumer devices and automotive infotainment systems. The new Center of Excellence will build outward from these strengths to offer tools, middleware, and application-level software to ALT’s growing customer base. Phoenix is a strategic location for ALT because of its concentration of Tier 1 customers and rich talent base of software engineers with the skills required to create high performance embedded software for resource-constrained devices and safety-critical environments.
“The Embedded Tools and Solutions Center of Excellence will take the lead on building a fresh, application-level focus for us while also providing support for ALT’s core products to our many Phoenix-based customers,” said Darryl Parisien, President of ALT Software. “By combining the talent base we have found in Phoenix with our close proximity to strategic customers and industry movers and shakers, ALT USA will be able to offer best in class embedded media application software. The U.S. subsidiary is also an excellent solution to the challenges we face as a Canadian corporation that works closely with the U.S. defense industry.”
