Q. Where are Co-op and Intern positions available?
A. Positions are available in either of our 2 offices - Toronto or Waterloo, Ontario. If the position that you are interested in does not specify a location, it means that we are flexible and will assign a location based on your preference.
Q. Are Co-ops and Internships paid positions?
A. Yes. ALT Software pays above average salaries to Co-ops and Interns (based on the results of salary surveys provided to us by the University campuses that we work with).
Q. What kind of work will I be doing?
A. ALT strongly believes in the role that we can play in providing students and new graduates with real work of real value. We want your time spent at ALT to be worthwhile, and, for that reason, you will be treated to work that is challenging.
Because our projects change continually, it is not always possible to tell you exactly what you will be working on at the time you are presented with your offer. We always try our best to provide details about past projects to give you an idea of what you might expect. We think that is part of the excitement of working at ALT!
Q. Will I have the chance to work at ALT after graduation?
A. We encourage Co-ops and Interns to keep in touch with us after their work-term. We often fill full-time positions from candidates who have worked with us as students. In some cases, we have even made offers of full-time employment during a student's final work term prior to graduation.
Q. What if you don't recruit at my school?
A. We welcome students from any academic institution to apply - even if we are not formally recruiting on your campus. Simply submit your application here.
Q. When should I submit my application for Co-op or Internship opportunities?
A. For Co-op positions, submit in February for positions running from May - August, submit in April for positions running from September - December, and submit in September for positions running from January - April.
If you are submitting an application for a Professional Experience Year/Internship, please apply between January and March.
