2D and 3D Graphics Solutions
ALT’s products support a wide range of performance requirements, from devices that employ a programmable graphics core for hardware acceleration, to graphics rendered through software alone. Our graphics drivers, media development tools and runtime components support 2D and 3D graphics rendering with minimal CPU overhead. Our software solutions support a broad range of operating system, processor (CPU) and graphics controller (GPU) configurations as well as SoC processors that contain Imagination Technologies graphics IP cores.
Our display drivers support the OpenVG, OpenGL and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics APIs, giving manufacturers maximum flexibility, scalability, and the many other advantages of these universally adopted APIs. For manufacturers looking to include 3D graphics support in devices with minimal or no hardware acceleration, ALT offers an OpenGL ES 1.1 software rendering 3D library. This implementation keeps complete device costs down and power consumption minimal by handling rendering functions through software alone. Our Development Services group also provides OpenGL ES and DirectX support for devices running Microsoft Windows CE, Windows Embedded Compact, and other Microsoft Embedded operating systems.
