Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing
Challenge
Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing (CWCEC), manufacturer of ruggedized graphics boards for the mil / aero market, needed a vendor with expertise in hardware accelerated graphics to help them develop embedded display drivers that support CWCEC hardware.
Solution
ALT worked with CWCEC to develop a custom 2D / 3D OpenGL graphics driver based on ALT's core driver technology. The resulting product enables hardware accelerated 2D and 3D graphics on Curtiss-Wright's ruggedized graphics boards. ALT also provides long-term technical support to Curtiss-Wright's customers, and offers custom system integration services and DO-178B certifiable software products and services.
Diehl Avionik
Challenge
Diehl required a DO-178B OpenGL solution for integration in the cockpit display systems for future commercial aircraft display systems.
Solution
Diehl's options were develop their own OpenGL driver or use ALT's and realized an enormous return on investment in both time and money by purchasing ALT's DO178B OpenGL driver. This will be one of the first commercial 3D graphics ASIC to be integrated into any commercial aircraft. Diehl also required a company with enormous 3D graphics experience to support their systems development and ongoing technical support throughout deployment.
Fujitsu low volume customers provider for graphics software and hardware engineering
Challenge
Fujitsu Electronics America was looking for a proficient and proven reliable company to support their low volume customers with both software and hardware engineering services. Example: one of those customers, STx, wanted to build a PCI 104-Fujitsu Coral P/PX graphics board, designed to support telematics and automotive display systems, and requiring support of a variety of different operating systems and hardware platforms.
Solution
ALT was selected as the vendor of choice to provide Fujitsu's customers with hardware engineering services, custom prototype boards, PCI 104 Coral boards to production, custom WinCE Mobile Direct3D drivers and OpenGL drivers on other embedded operating systems. ALT used their OpenGL expertise in conjunction with STx executing the hardware development to create various telematics display subsystems suitable to support automotive, industrial controls and handheld consumer electronics. ALT's cross platform Fujitsu Coral based OpenGL solution enables STx's customers to run hardware accelerated 3D graphics and video support on select single board computers.
Honeywell & Boeing Mesa Attack Helicopter Avionics Displays
Challenge
Honeywell needed an OpenGL solution to enable the Boeing Mesa AH-64D Apache Longbow's Advanced High Resolution Color Avionics Display.
Solution
ALT's real-time and embedded mission critical OpenGL solution was selected to enable the AH-64D Apache Longbow's Advanced High Resolution Color Avionics Display because of its long and successful history developing 2D and 3D accelerated drivers for a variety of embedded systems running various real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, Linux, and CS LEOS.
Kaiser Electronics / Rockwell Collins/Northrop Grumman F/A-18E/F Super Hornet
Challenge
Kaiser needed a company with extensive real-time accelerated OpenGL graphics experience.
Solution
ALT Software was selected as Kaiser's "OpenGL developer of choice" to develop display systems which allows pilots to view digital moving maps, enact weapon guidance, increase their situational awareness and perform other mission critical aircraft management functions. ALT's real-time and embedded OpenGL was selected and is currently deployed in various F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft.
STx GT3D OpenGL solution for Fujitsu Coral P/PA 3D accelerator
Challenge
STx, wanted to build a PCI 104-Fujitsu Coral P/PA graphics board, designed to support telematics and automotive display systems, and requiring support of a variety of different operating systems and hardware platforms
Solution
ALT utilized their embedded OpenGL products in conjunction with STx executing the hardware development to create various telematics display subsystems suitable to support automotive, industrial controls and handheld consumer electronics. ALT's cross platform Fujitsu Coral based OpenGL solution enables STx's customers to run hardware accelerated 3D graphics and video support on select single board computers.
