ALT Graphics Driver Successfully Flight Tested in the Airbus A380

Challenge
Airbus required a graphics driver for the OANS (Onboard Airport Navigation System) avionics application used in the A380.

Solution
ALT’s driver is a superset of OpenGL ES SC (safety-critical) graphics API. When deployed in an aircraft, the driver software is the interface between the hardware and the application. Our DO-178B Level A certifiable cockpit display drivers are used in display systems and other safety-critical environments that employ hardware accelerated graphics and require the strictest levels of reliability.

Challenge
Diehl required a DO-178B OpenGL solution for integration in the cockpit display systems for future commercial aircraft display systems.

Solution
Diehl's options were develop their own OpenGL driver. They realized an enormous return on investment by purchasing ALT's DO178B OpenGL driver. Diehl chose ALT because they required a company with enormous 3D graphics experience to support their systems development and ongoing technical support throughout deployment.
